Prosper Colas (1842-1919)
He learned bow making in his hometown of Coincourt and moved to Paris to work in J.B. Vuillaume's workshop. Influenced by D. Peccatte, he produced bows of such high quality that they are sometimes mistaken for the work of his contemporaries, such as F. Bazin, C. Husson, and P. Kunio.
His workshop thrived due to the excellent quality of his affordable bows, and he produced many bows under his own brand.
