Description
Stunning antique matelasse bedspread, a family heirloom. Gorgeous white floral jaquard design with eight large peony flowers surrounding a central medallion. This bedspread has split corners with 90 degree angles at the bottom of the coverlet that were made to accommodate the bedposts of four-poster beds. Beautiful scrolled detailing on sides and scalloped edging all the way around. Measures 79”x 79” for a full bed. In surprisingly excellent antique condition, I could barely find any small visible holes and a few loosened areas on the scalloped edging, no spots or tears. Much more beautiful than photographs can capture.
