SmallRig Handheld Monopod Kit

Chinese companies' camera accessories, once underestimated, are becoming quite impressive. SmallRig is one such manufacturer that is gaining recognition in the tripod industry, even in Japan.

This is a dynamic company headquartered next to Huawei's headquarters in Shenzhen, with a significant portion of its exports going to the US and Europe, while about 8% are exported to Japan.

This is a monopod designed for handheld use. Similar to a bipod used with a battle rifle, it can be fixed to the ground to prevent camera shake with slow shutter speeds, making it ideal for shooting nightscapes. It can also be used like a selfie stick to capture scenery from above, and its lack of legs makes it easy to carry.

I bought this for my wife, who enjoys photography, but she said she wouldn't use it, so I'm selling it. It's convenient to use, such as by attaching it to the side of a bag using the MOLLE system found on military camera bags, but if she won't use it, there's nothing to be done.

This product is not sold in Japan. The construction is solid and doesn't feel cheap. The ball mount on the head is also machined aluminum, giving it a quality feel that belies its origin. The stick, mount, and quick-release plate are all assembled from separately sold components.

It also comes with a Ulanzi magnetic quick shoe.
