Juniperus rigida is known as Tosho (杜松) in the bonsai world, but is also commonly called Muro or Muro no ki. Nezu is the official name. The name Nezumi-sashi (mouse stopper) originates from the fact that the leaves of this tree are hard and needle-like; it is said that placing branches of this tree in mouse pathways will stop mice.
As its growth is not particularly fast, you can enjoy shaping its form over time. The parent tree of this specimen bears fruit. We encourage those interested to consider this bonsai.
