Description
I purchased this item previously here to digitize old Hi8 tapes.
Now that the work is complete, I am listing it for sale.
I only used it as a playback device, connecting it to my computer via composite.
I have not tested its recording capabilities.
When playing back several tapes, I sometimes encountered noise (possibly due to tape dirt adhering to the heads). This was resolved each time by cleaning the heads.
However, it seems that depending on the condition of the tape, this may not always improve the situation.
The LCD screen does display properly as shown in the third photo, but depending on the viewing angle, many line-like patterns that are difficult to describe can be seen. This did not affect the dubbing results, so I did not mind it.
In any case, the device itself is quite old, so it's impossible to say when it might malfunction.
I purchased it knowing the risks and fortunately was able to complete my work without issue. Please consider this item with the understanding that it is a used product and its future performance is uncertain.
