LOOP TAPE SAMPLER

TAPES is a sampler that simulates a LOOP TAPE.
It adds a challenging essence not only to experimental music like Music Concrete or Vaper Wave, but also to your everyday music.

Lo-fi Effects
Input sound is recorded onto tape via the REC HEAD and then output via the PLAY HEAD. The output sound is delayed slightly from the input. This delay is determined by the tape playback speed (SPEED) and the tape length (END-START interval). By shortening the interval between START and END, you can achieve a faster response. The sound quality of the output is significantly affected by the tape playback speed (SPEED). Faster tape speeds result in higher resolution sound, while slower speeds produce a rougher resolution. Slower speeds tend to make higher frequencies sound particularly rough, which can be mitigated using the LPF (TONE knob).

Loop Function (Sampling)
When you press the REC button, TAPES continuously writes to the tape. However, by pressing the LOOP switch, you can stop writing and loop (sample) the sound. Pressing and holding the LOOP button allows you to save the tape's contents. Writing and playback occur within the section set by the START and END knobs. By utilizing this feature, you can combine multiple sounds in sequence to create new loops.
