Vintage Set Of 5 Lamberton Sterling Scammell Saucers Mid-Century Hotel Ware 1946

Vintage 1946 set of 5 heavy duty saucers was originally made for use in hotels & dining cars on trains.  Manufactured by Scammell China Company in Trenton, NJ.  Date code 06 indicates production era of 1946.  Made of vitrified china, very durable & made to last.    Condition- no chips, or cracks.  I do notice heavy utensil lines from a lot of use, which adds to the mid-century character.   Each piece has a small, unglazed skip or stilt mark on the backside.  This is not a defect but from the industrial kiln process. Also noted are some kiln firing small brown spots- which is also normal.  This is a great set of American history- whether used in hotel restaurants or train dining cars.
