Timekeeping Candle

Timekeeping candle with ribbed amber wax candle, metal mechanism, and decorative tripod stand. Unlike a traditional candle, this ingenious design allows the user to periodically raise the candle as the wax burns. These clock candles or timekeeping candles were designed to burn at a relatively consistent rate and served as both functional timepieces and decorative conversation pieces. A wonderful addition to a collection of mid-century design, scientific curiosities, vintage lighting, or unusual home décor.
